Loomis Suomi Oy, fully owned subsidiary of Loomis AB, has agreed to acquire assets and customer contracts from the Finnish cash handling provider Ponsec Finland Oy.

Loomis has acquired the Slovakian cash handling company Fenix in its first acquisition in Slovakia since entering the market in March this year. Fenix has annual sales of approximately Euro 500,000 and is the county’s third largest operator.

Jarl Dahlfors, chief financial officer of cash handling company Loomis, will become president of the company's US subsidiary on July 1, 2009. The company is currently in the process of recruiting his successor. Jarl Dahlfors will replace Cal Murri who is retiring after 36 years with Loomis. To insure a smooth transition, Cal will remain responsible for the Loomis US operations until June 30, 2009.
Effective today Loomis is also restructuring its US organization by eliminating its Regional tier of management. At the same time the current Area management will be consolidated into twelve districts.

The listed company Loomis has been licensed to provide cash handling services in Slovakia through a newly established subsidiary in the capital Bratislava. The entry into the Slovakian market means that Loomis now has operations in 13 countries in Europe and the USA.

Loomis, which since December 2008 has been a mid-cap listed company on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm, improved its operating income (EBITA) for the full year 2008 to MSEK 748 (566)[1] and raised its operating margin to 6.6 percent (5.3).[1] Income before taxes increased to MSEK 569 (317)[1] and revenue amounted to MSEK 11,258 (10,591).[1]

Patrik Högberg has been appointed the new Country President for the listed cash handling company Loomis Sweden. He will replace Kenneth Högman who will return to a full-time appointment as Executive Vice President Business Development in the Group Management, a responsibility he has upheld on a part-time basis during the past year.
